About David Gilberts

David Gilberts, is a Security Consultant focused on concealed weapons detection technology and converged security systems based in El Segundo, California.

My career began in the United States Marine Corps (USMC) as a Communications Officer (Captain) where I held a top secret security clearance and managed a team of 300+ Marines responsible combat operations center security and for securing data and voice networks and systems throughout Southeast Asia in support of the 30,000+ Marines in the 3d Marine Division.

Since serving in the Marine Corps, I have continued to focus on helping my clients improve their physical and cyber security posture in positions at Allied Universal Security, AT&T, CERFnet, Electric Lightwave, Inc. (ELI, now Zayo), Gilberts Communications, Gilberts Cyber, Infonet (BT), MCI, MIS Security, Novacoast, Level 3 & Qwest (now Lumen), Optiv, Patrol Solutions, Spectrum Enterprise, STV, SubRosa Cyber, XO, TCG, and TDS Telecom.

I have 30+ years of experience focused on creating solutions that address unique client business, cyber and physical security convergence challenges. I am currently focused on hospital concealed weapons detection technology and associated converged security systems and continuously stay abreast of developments in these areas that may affect my clients’ interests.

My approach is based on experience, integrity, attention to detail, and common sense. I thoroughly assess my clients’ unique and specific physical and cyber security problems and tailer solutions to solve them.

EDUCATION: Juris Doctor (JD, Law), Seattle University School of Law; Master of Business Administration (MBA) + Master of Science (MS) in Cybersecurity, University of Maryland Global Campus, and Bachelor of Science (BS) in Political Science, University of Oregon.
