The purpose of AB 2975 is to require the Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board (Standards Board), by March 1, 2027, to amend the workplace violence prevention in health care standards to require certain licensed hospitals to implement a weapons detection screening policy that requires the use of weapons detection devices that automatically screen a person’s body at specified entrances, and adopt related policies, staffing and signage, as specified.
